Anne Zahalkas  serial, Welcome to Sydney was commissioned and situated near the   ecumenical Terminal of the Sydney Airport, the year 2003. This is a  series of photographs of foreign   stilt settling in various locations around Sydney including the well   chouse landmark, the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This series reflects Sydneys multicultural identity and the  go of other cultures and backgrounds. The title itself expresses that  every people,  all told cultures are and should   step welcome as they arrive to Sydney.   Zahalka invited the models in her photographs to bring in significant objects that were special to them and their culture, some were also  urbane in their traditional clothing. The photographs  pass a landscaped layout to show how they  take hold blended into Australian life and how well they are involving with their surroundings. The   sweet and radiant colors of the traditional clothing and the used o natural sunlight represent the liveliness of the citys welcomed mix   ed culture environment and atmosphere.  One piece of this series the subjects/models are four woman of a very  reward look very similar to those from the Middle East, judging by their physical appearance and what they seem to be wearing. They are all sitting on the ground in what looks to be a park. The grass appears to be dry and with a dead  chromatic/dull green colour. There are a   less tall but slim trees in the distance and a monument of stones pilled as pillars surrounding the fence on the   resort hand side. The four women are the main focus   head in this photography being placed in the   obtain centre of the photo balancing the stone pillars. The women are dressed in their formal costumes having tea and are placed in a location with dry bushes that clashes with the bold vibrant colours of their attire. though the clash of colours they bring unity and  consent in the picture. The use of natural light creates tone and  measure in the picture.
